World Dwarf Games

World Dwarf Games – Gold Coast, Australia

From 11 to 19 August 2027, the world's best short-statured athletes will gather on Australia's Gold Coast for the 9th World Dwarf Games (WDG). The Games are the largest international multi-sport event for short-statured people, bringing together athletes from every continent. After the successful 2023 Games in Cologne, the international short-statured sports community will now come together in Australia to celebrate sporting excellence, fair play and community.

For German Dwarf Sports, the 2027 World Dwarf Games are a very special goal. Memories of the 2023 home Games in Cologne are still fresh: held in Germany for the first time, they grew into the largest edition in the history of the Games, with more than 500 athletes from 25 nations.

Team Germany celebrated numerous successes there. The standout was another gold medal for the men's national soccer team, who successfully defended their title to become world champions for the second time. The junior A team also made history, winning the world title for the first time. Team Germany also claimed the world title in volleyball. The strong showing was rounded off by the women's soccer team, whose silver medal marked another milestone for short-statured sport in Germany.

With these successes behind them, Team Germany looks ahead to the 2027 World Dwarf Games with great anticipation. Our goal is to compete with at least 50 athletes, build on the success of Cologne, represent Germany with pride and carry the values of short-statured sport out into the world together. The Gold Coast offers the perfect stage for new sporting highlights, international encounters and unforgettable moments.
